The Roofsaver Restoration System is an excellent solution for owners faced with aging built-up roof systems, SBS Modified Bitumen systems or a variety of others. The Roofsaver Restoration System offers tremendous cost savings while providing an extremely flexible, self-healing, monolithic membrane bonded directly to the properly prepared existing system. This eliminates lateral water migration between the new and old systems associated with the “Re-cover” systems on the market today. The Roofsaver Restoration System eliminates the costs associated with complete tear-offs, and minimizes the environmental impact and inconvenience to your employees/tenants. A number of options are available with this system including RS Heat Shield to significantly reduce energy costs. These options allow IWS to address your specific needs while designing a system with a proven life span that far exceeds that of traditional roofing systems.
RS Heat Shield
RS Heat Shield is a white coating applied to the RS Wearing Course component of Roofsaver assemblies. The coating is highly reflective thereby minimizing ‘solar gain’ or unnecessary warming of the air conditioned interior space of the building. Buildings with RS Shield will have substantially lower energy costs than an identical building with any other finish system including gravel, mineral surfacing or aluminum paint. Not only does RS Heat Shield reduce your energy costs, but it also helps reduce the “Urban Heat Island Effect”.
RS Wearing Course
RS Wearing Course is a rubberized asphalt membrane designed to embed in RS Base Hot Rubberized Asphalt. Its flexibility means it will move with the waterproofing layer below it without cracking like non-modified membranes will. It is lightly sanded top surface provides an excellent substrate to on which to apply RS Heat Shield.
RS Base
RS Base Hot Rubberized Asphalt is a monolithic, self-healing and liquid applied membrane. The membrane is heated at ground level in a specially designed melting kettle and applied to the substrate using a squeegee like applicator. This ensures there are no voids in the membrane system. It is applied in two monolithic costs separated by RS Reinforcing Fabric. Applying the system in this manner provides two truly monolithic layers of protection at all projections and flashing details.
RS Reinforcing Fabric
RS Reinforcing Fabric is spun-bond polyester scrim sheet designed for use with Hot Rubberized Asphalt Systems.
Properly Prepared Existing Roof Assembly
Properly Prepared Existing Roof Assembly. Each type of existing assembly requires different preparation prior to installing the Roofsaver Restoration System over it. Preparation included things like removal and replacement of localized area of wet insulation, cutting out existing blisters, removal and replacement of plumbing stack flashings and drains, etc.
